The Hamilton Eye Institute wanted to share all of the accomplishments and exciting news items they had going on through a seasonal newsletter. The newsletter is used to keep important contacts with the Insitute informed, attract new students interested in studying there, and provide an enhanced public image. I was called upon to create the overall design and currently provide the layout design for each current issue.
TITLE: Memphis International Film & Music Fest

On Location: Memphis is a local non-profit dedicated to the support of film and film education in the community. Their main event every year is the Memphis International Film & Music Fest. They needed someone that could provide the key artwork that would be used on all promotional material related to the festival. I was privileged with the task of creating the official poster art and adapting it as needed for various uses. These included, posters, post cards, magazine ads, web banners, t-shirts and more. I also provided the design and layout for the festival program featuring information about the festival, the city of Memphis, and all of the films being featured at the festival that year.
TITLE: Steton's & Stars Gala
CLIENT: Mid-South Alzheimer's Association

The Mid-South Chapter of Alzheimer's Association hosted an annual gala for a few years, with live music, catered meals, and a silent auction - with all proceeds benefiting the Alzheimer's Association. They needed help creating materials to help promote the event and I was able to help in designing this image. It was used on post cards, special invitations, flyers, appeared in several magazines, in the event program, and on the web. The design helped to convey the 'western' theme of the event and keeping an inviting and fun appeal.

Similar to the 2011 design project, I was again able to provide all of the design and artwork for the materials promoting the 2012. This included the official poster art, ads and other promotional material. We even got to create a screen card that showed along with the preview cards before movie showings at local theaters in the months leading up to the festival. I also provided design for the program and signage at the festival.

The Memphis and Shelby County Film & Television Commission is a proud supporter of the Indie Memphis Film Fest, held in Memphis annually. They called upon me to help them create a design that showed it and that would be featured in the festival program.

The Memphis and Shelby County Music Commission began a special project to raise funds for the Memphis Musicians Health Care Fund. This fund provides health care for musicians and their families as needed. To this aim, they petitioned many well-known public figures related to Memphis, Music, and Tennessee, to contribute recipes for a special cookbook entitled, A Taste of Memphis Music. I was honored to create this cover design for the cookbook. They wanted something different and edgy, so I left the traditional plaid, pretty ladies with flowers and pots and pans, and went with a contemporary feel. Used a Memphis icon, Beale St - known for it's music and restaruants to communicate that message in the book - A Taste of Memphis Music.

Young photographer, Michael Cardwell, began a project called, This Is Memphis - inspired by Chase Jarvis' Seattle 100. He was able to capture a nice array of photographs of Memphians from all walks of life. But he needed a way to showcase the work. I got to design a clean and minimal logo that cpatured the essence and stlye of the project. I was also able to create a website to display all of the portraits and allow Michael to continue the project.

A young marketing firm starting out, AMM needed the works. Logo design, stationary, website, branding, ads, etc - everything to help them get off the ground and present themselves in a credible and attractive way. I was able to provide design of all the branding materials, including the design and development of the website.

Madarn's Bake House is an independant bakery service with eye-catching, delicious treats to offer. But she needed a business image to match. I was able to provide a logo that cleverly communicated what she does, along with materials to help her brand. This included a stationary set, invoices, thank you cards, a website, and of course - labels for the cake boxes.

As a brand new music school in Memphis, International School of Music, or ISO Music, wanted to make a splash as they came on the scene. I provided a dignified and welcoming logo image that clearly identified who they are, a premiere music school. They also needed to make sure that they were found online by potential music students, young and old alike. I was able to create an impressive website design, that was easy to navigate, and provided all of the needed information to those seeking a quality music education. In additon, I was able to create consistent designs to custom pages on twitter, facebook, and youtube, to help make sure they would be found.

Adult Diaper care was starting out as a new business focused on providing incontinence online. They wanted an image that was warm, tender, and would tactfully communicate what they were about. The image of two people in an embrace, also forming an image of a heart, was perfect for communcating the message of care and concern.

The UTHSC Hamilton Eye Institute was preparing thier annual report for 2008 and wanted an image that was impactful and represented what they try to accomplish in providing the optimum care in ophthalmology. The design created was simple and kept a dignified style, while conveying the care they show. The image of the globe in the eye also clearly communicated they scope of thier work, being international.

Tangerine Pool & Lawn wanted a logo that would stand out from the competition and help them as they started out in their first year. This provided an interesting challenge and as I needed to clearly communicate two aspects of services they provided - lawn care and pool care. The image uses colors that readily identify with the subject. It also cleverly uses negative space to create the feel of a tangerine floating in the waves of a pool. In additiona, the design overall is simple enough, yet still distinguishable, to be easy to use in a variety of applications.

This was more of a personal project. I had a friend who graduated and became licensed massuese. As a special graduation gift, I got to provide her with these business cards to help her off to good start.

Bandoggo Kennels bred and trained special protection dogs, a unique breed he called bandoggo's. They needed something that was appealing but had a stout, strong presence. The use of breed's silouette on a shield, perfectly conveyed the sense of tradition that comes with breeding along with the idea of protection trainging that Bandoggo Kennels provides.

This was another personal project that I created on a whim one day after the W3C released the official HTML5 logo. I wasn't sure what to do with it at first, but after seeing how well it was recieved I decided to share it. I began selling this poster earlier in 2011 and it's been featured on several websites and galleries around the world. I've sold it to individuals in about 11 countries so far.
